Car Accident Involving Deer Tops North Castle Police Blotter

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- An accident involving a car and a deer highlights recent police activity in North Castle.

  • Sept. 5, 10:18:15 a.m. Complainant reported being involved in a one-vehicle property damage motor vehicle accident about 2 a.m. Complainant reports he was traveling north on State Road 120 N when a deer ran into the right side of his vehicle, causing damage. Officer observed damage to the vehicle at 10:30 a.m. Damage consisted of scuffs and dents on the passenger side of the hood, dents on the passenger side fender, dents on the passenger side door and dents on the passenger side rear quarter panel (two-door sedan). Report filed as a matter of record. 
  • Sept. 6, 1:09:29 p.m. Caller stated he just arrived at his Juniper Court home and found his pilot light out and that the inside of his residence smells like gas. He was instructed to have everyone exit the residence. Officer contacted 60 Control for dispatch of Fire Department. Fire Department checked the interior with negative readings. 
  • Sept. 8, 8:29:49 p.m. Caller stated that an unknown party just rang the intercom at her driveway gate on Terrace Circle and stated they were there to deliver a package. Caller stated she finds this very suspicious as she is not expecting anything and she does not believe the post office would be delivering at this time of day. She stated she cannot see down to the gate and so was unable to provide a description of the vehicle/party involved. Officer responded and reports making contact with a U.S. Postal Service employee who is out late due to the holiday the previous day. Caller was informed her of officer's findings. 
  • Sept. 9, 6:45:50 p.m. Caller reported that she saw a canine locked inside a vehicle with the windows rolled up in a parking lot on Main Street. Complainant stated that when she confronted the driver of the vehicle, the driver used excessive verbal language and walked toward her in a threatening manner. Officer responded.
