Write-In Ballots Won't be Counted Until Sept. 22

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Residents who cast ballots for a write-in candidate in Tuesday's primaries won't have their vote counted until Sept. 22, according to the Board of Elections.

Official results won't be available until all voting machines are returned to the Board of Elections' warehouse in Ardsley, where they will be re-canvassed next Thursday, said Tajian Jones, executive assistant to Reginald LaFayette, commissioner of the Democratic Board of Elections.

Unofficial tallies are currently available on the Board of Elections website.
