ARMONK, N.Y. An Armonk man called the North Castle Police Department last week to complain that a large pile of wood was missing from his property at 445 Bedford Road, and might have been stolen.
Police Officer Thomas Cobelli Jr. said that the complainant (listed only as Mr. Sladick), who only stays at the property occasionally, had the tree cut down by his neighbor and that he was taking some of the wood with permission. The neighbor informed the Mr. Sladick that he only took some wood and left the rest on Sladicks property for him.
Sladick stated he did not know who took the rest of the wood but that it might have been taken in error because he noticed another neighbor was having tree work done.
The incident, by Sladicks request, was documented as a matter of record in case a similar situation arises.
