Such ponds can become breeding sites for mosquitoes, which carry the serious and sometimes-fatal West Nile virus, according to a press release from the county Health Department.
Residents who want to use the fathead minnows to help battle West Nile are asked to bring a bucket to Loop Road, building two, at the Westchester County airport.
The distribution days and times next week will be as follows.
- Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
