Westchester Airport Reopened Following Threat

WESTCHESTER, N.Y. – Westchester County Airport was reopened Sunday following an unknown threat that shut down the airport, according to police.

Westchester County Police said the airport was shut down for roughly an hour and a half.

Police said the Westchester County Hazardous Devices Unit was called in and determined the issue a non-threat.

Around 6:40 p.m., eyewitnesses said the airport entrance had been blocked by police cars and that police, ambulance and fire vehicles were at the scene.  By 7:45 p.m., traffic was moving and travelers were being told that the problem had passed.
