ARMONK, N.Y. - Armonk Supervisor Bill Weaver said the aftermath of Saturday's snow storm remained at the forefront of the town's memory Monday as recovery efforts continued.
"Trees and utility poles are down across our town, from North White Plains to Armonk to Banksville and the Eastern District," Weaver said, adding that more than 3,100 homes remained without electricity. "Safety is the primary concern."
Weaver said that trick-or-treaters and their families should use caution as downed wires can be hidden from view by snow, and tree limbs. He noted a Con Edison representative was in North Castle coordinating restoration crews.
"We have been told that dry ice will be delivered from Con Edison to Community Park later today," Weaver said.
The Hergenhan Recreation Center will host a warming center until 10 p.m. Monday and offer hot showers, snacks and a place to charge phones and computers.
As of Monday afternoon, Consolidated Edison reported 3,183 North Castle residents without power.
