WCC President is Highest Paid County Employee

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Westchester Community College President Joseph Hankin, who has headed the college for 40 years, is the nation's longest-serving president of a public university. His legacy doesn't come without compensation as Hankin, who makes $234,886 a year, is the county's highest-salaried employee.

Westchester spends $1,678,674 a year paying its 10 highest-earning employees, who are listed below:

- Joseph Hankin, president of the Westchester Community College, earns $234,886 a year.

- Public Safety Commissioner and Sheriff George Longworth makes $176,600.

- County Executive Robert Astorino receives a salary of $160,760. 

- George John, a first deputy district attorney, gets paid $158,640 a year.

- Maryaane Luciano gets a salary of $158,640 for her work as a first deputy district attorney.

- James McCarty, a first deputy district attorney, receives a salary of $158,570.

- Marjorie Glusker makes $158,570 a year as the vice president and dean of the division of continuing education and community services at Westchester Community College.

- Fred Boyar, Westchester Community College's vice president and dean of administrative services, get paid $158,568 a year.

- Kevin Plunkett earns a salary of $157,370 as the deputy county executive.

- Kunjlata Ashar, a pathologist-deputy medical examiner, receives a salary of $156,000.
