IRVINGTON, N.Y. Police investigating the disappearance of an Irvington woman say their search has turned up surveillance video footage of the woman walking in Irvington shortly before she was reported missing.
In the video, 84-year-old Betty Iannarelli can be seen walking up Main Street in Irvington around 1:55 a.m. on Friday. Police are working to enhance a still image of the video to release to the public.
If somebody sees her, thats going to be the break in this case, Irvington Police Chief Michael P. Cerone said.
Cerone said the department had received tips from the public about Iannarellis location, but the leads all turned up negative. Police have searched the Croton Aqueduct for signs of Iannarelli and used tracking dogs to try to find her, but they have been unsuccessful.
A reward of $5,000 is now being offered for information leading to Iannarellis whereabouts.
Iannarelli was reported missing around 3:30 a.m. on Friday from her South Broadway home. Iannarelli suffers from Alzheimers disease.
Irvington police describe Iannarelli as approximately 5 feet tall, 140 pounds and black-haired. Police say she was wearing an aqua-blue night dress and sandals.
Flyers hung on telephone poles around Irvington on Monday, advertising a $5,000 reward along with information on Iannarellis appearance.
Iannarelli remains missing after police searched the area throughout the weekend. Several area news outlets published Iannarellis photo and description to no avail. The Village of Irvington sent out emails to residents on Friday, encouraging them to call the police if they had information on Iannarelli.
Police are asking anyone with information about Ianarellis whereabouts to call the Irvington Police Department at 914-591-8080.
