The sudden announcement of the Chapter 7 bankruptcy declaration has resulted in challenges for those municipalities and agencies that rely on TransCare services, including the cities of White Plains and Mount Vernon and Town of Mount Pleasant as well as hospitals and nursing homes in the county and local EMS agencies.

Yonkers-based Empress Ambulance Service is expected to assume much of TransCare's Westchester service.

TransCare's Dutchess ambulance divisions will be included in the company's restructuring plan, which means no impact on service in Dutchess.
