The free beverages will be available at each of the Thruway’s 27 service areas until 7 a.m. Friday.
“Thruway’s New Year’s Eve tradition is an excellent way to encourage motorists to take a break during their travels and to promote safe driving during the busy holiday season,” said Thruway Authority Executive Director Robert L. Megna. “It is crucial that motorists stay alert and drive safely not only during the holidays, but year-round.”
This tradition is made possible through the generosity of the service area operators, including McDonald’s Corp., Delaware North Cos. Travel Hospitality Services and HMS Host Corp.
Motorists are reminded not to stop along the shoulder of the roadway except in the case of an emergency.
