Supervisor Reaffirms Armonk Square Agreement

ARMONK, N.Y. -- North Castle Supervisor Howard Arden reaffirmed Planning Board chair Bob Green's comments about the Armonk Square agreement.

Arden said all parties agree to the plan to develop Armonk Square but are awaiting a site plan approval. The site plan will be presented to the planning board and Arden said their approval is cut and dry, because they've already approved Armonk Square development plans.

The plan was temporarily stalled when local developer Michael Fareri filed an Article 78 petition against the town and the developers of Armonk Square, but he has since agreed to development plans with minor changes to the layout, which will actually benefit Armonk Square because he has agreed to allow them to use a driveway near the Cocobolo property he owns.

"For all intents and purposes it's done," Arden said, signaling the town and developer’s relief that work can proceed on Armonk Square and the supermarket that will be built to replace the A&P on Main Street, which is set to close Feb.15.

Once the planning board issues final approval it will be presented to a judge and Fareri's Article 78 petition will be voided, Arden said.
