Storms Knock Out Power To Hundreds In Westchester

More than 1,000 residents lost power on Tuesday as heavy rain rolled through the area, bringing with it heavy winds, rain and flash floods.

With flash flood warnings taking effect in the area, as of 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, 1,154 of Con Edison’s 348,198 Westchester customers were reporting outages, with full restoration scheduled by approximately 6 p.m.

New Rochelle was the hardest hit, with 866 customers reporting outages. New Castle (250 outages), North Castle (26), Bronxville (eight), Greenburgh, Irvington, Mount Pleasant, and Tuckahoe (one apiece) were also reporting outages.

NYSEG is reporting no power outages in the areas it serves in Northern Westchester and 105 in Putnam County.
