The real spring warm-up may not come until the second week of April.
The average April temperatures for the area are in the 50’s and 60’s, but according to Accuweather.com meteorologists we won’t be seeing that until at least the second half of April.
There might be more sun coming through, but the jet stream will continue bringing in cold air to the area."The jet stream appears as though it will continue its antics of large southward dips, known as troughs, and northward bulges, known as ridges," Expert Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said. "Occasionally these dips will break off from the main jet stream forming closed-off lows."
The National Weather also forecasts colder than normal temperatures for the next two weeks. After that, however, the summer months may be warmer than normal, the weather service says.
