Some Armonk Residents Still Without Power

HARRISON, N.Y. - Snow fell in Armonk Saturday leaving roads slippery and tree branches heavy. The town reported fallen trees and several residents without power.

North Castle police said some trees had fallen but there was no significant damage to report aside from some power outages in town.

"North Castle's Emergency Operations Center is working on coordinating efforts with Con Edison, our Highway Department and outside tree service companies," Supervisor Bill Weaver said in a statement. "Work continues on Route 22 and other roads where there is substantial tree debris blocking roads and impacting utility wires."

Weaver said a Con Ed representative was in North Castle coordinating restoration crews.

Hergenhan Recreation Center is being staffed by NC4 volunteers Sunday until 10:00 p.m. and offers a hot shower, a snack and a place to charge cell phones. There is no internet access at Hergenhan, but there is television and football games are on, Weaver said.

As of Sunday afternoon, Consolidated Edison reported 3,177 North Castle residents without power. It is unclear how many of those outages were storm-related.

Nearby White Plains reported only 1,677 Con Ed customers without power. Meanwhile, Harrison reported 798 customers without electricity.
