'Slip-Slide' Conditions Cause Metro-North Delays

Metro-North customers experienced delays of up to 10 minutes on the New Haven and Harlem lines Sunday afternoon through the early evening as a result of “slip-slide" conditions.

"Slip-slide" refers to crushed leaves covering tracks with a gelatinous coating, causing the wheels to literally slip or slide on the rails.

Customers were told by Metro-North to listen to announcements at local stations.
