Should They Build A Tappan Zee Bridge Park?

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A group of elected officials and local residents, including Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, have proposed turning the current Tappan Zee Bridge into a park once the new bridge is completed in 2017.

What's your opinion on their proposal?

The group argues that such a park would bring in additional tourism revenue as people would come from all over to walk, bike or run inside the park. They also noted it would save the state millions in teardown costs and protect the environment from removing the old bridge.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently said the state was open to the idea of a park similar to the High Line in New York City or the Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie.

Do you think the Tappan Bridge Park is something the state should consider as it moves forward in the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement project?
