Renovation at Armonk Rec Center to Add Security

ARMONK, N.Y. – Construction was underway Tuesday in the main room of Armonk's Hergenhan Recreation Center to create a front desk area that officials said will be more secure.

The front desk counter has been raised from 36 inches to 45 inches and an enclosure is planned above the counter. The enclosure will provide security for anyone working behind the counter, officials said.

Don Brandes, foreman for the North Castle Recreation and Parks Department, installed sheet rock and was installing electrical circuit boxes on Tuesday.
