Open House at Armonk FD for Fire Prevention Week

ARMONK, N.Y. – The Armonk Fire Department will celebrate Fire Prevention Week with an open house event at the Armonk Firehouse on Oct. 2 between noon and 4 p.m.

Volunteers will conduct activities for kids, and families will lean how to stay safe. Fire Department t-shirts will also be available.

According to the National Fire Protection Association’s website, Fire Prevention Week was established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire, which killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and burned more than 2,000 acres in 1871.
