North White Plains Fire Dept. Removes Cable Wire

ARMONK, N.Y. - The  North White Plains Fire Department was dispatched on a report of a wire down across a roadway at 911 N. Broadway on Dec. 28. The road was closed and the wire was found to be a cable from a nearby pole. The cable was removed from the roadway, which was reopened.

Someone told police that there was a strong odor of gas coming from the Bagel Emporium at 391 Main St., Armonk on Dec. 29. The gas meter was checked with negative results and Con Edison arrived on the scene and determined the problem was being caused by a water heater. The heater was shut down and the Police Department reported all units were clear.

The North Castle Police Department reported a 15-year-old boy missing from his home at 20 Whippoorwill Rd., Armonk on Dec. 28. His mother told police she returned home from work and her son didn't answer his cell phone. With assistance from Verizon the phone was located and the boy was found.
