North Castle Complies With Meeting Agenda Law

ARMONK, N.Y. - North Castle complies with the state meeting agenda law passed this week that requires towns to post government meeting information online at leasts 24 hours in advance of the meetings.

Anne Curran, North Castle town clerk, said meeting schedules for the entire year are posted on the town website.

At a Quick Link on the home page visitors can find meeting times and agendas for the Town Board and Planning Board.

At the Town Hall link at the bottom of the page, other departments, boards and committees are listed, with meeeting and agenda information available.

Mark Weston, an Armonk resident who doesn't go to town meetings but often reads about them or watches televised meetings, said, "It's easy enough to send the information online but they don't need to be stringent about it. It won't cost anything so I think it's okay."

A woman, who requested anonymity, said the new law is a good idea. "If there's something I want to know about the info is available so I don't have to figure out who I need to call," she said.
