"North Castle was hit very hard, but be assured that the Town is working hard to get things back to normal," Arden said in a statement Thursday.
According to the North Castle Police Department, Route 22 from Upland Road in Windmill to North White Plains is now passable. Police said they expect all of Route 22 to be open later Thursday.
Byram Lake Road is now open from Cox Avenue to Baldwin Road. Route 128 is open to Mount Kisco, as is Route 684 in both directions and School Street. Police said High Street and Middle Patent were being worked on Thursday and hope to be open again soon.
While roads are being reopened, Arden said electricity restoration is another issue.
"While Con Ed has not given us an estimated time for power restoration, restoration will be on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis and could take well into next week," Arden said. "Trees and wires must first be removed before repairs and re-energizing can start."
In the meantime, the town has set up a shelter at the Hergenhan Recreation Center. Food, water, electricity, showers and Wi-Fi are available. Overnight accommodations can be made if needed.
The Gym on Business Park Drive and Brynwood Country Club on Route 22 are also open for all residents to shower. Residents are advised to bring their own towels.
