New Jersey transit suspended operations in the early morning hours on most lines Saturday due to intensifying storm conditions, according to transportation websites.
No trains will run anywhere in the tristate area after 4 p.m. as the storm dubbed the Blizzard of 2016 continues to rage across the region. Metro North and LIRR shut service at 4 p.m.
Riders should listen for station announcements and continue to check transportation websites for updates.
A blizzard is impacting the entire NJ Transit and MTA service area. Due to the deteriorating road conditions and poor visibility, all service began an orderly shutdown at 4 p.m. due to worsening weather conditions and concerns for customer and employee safety.
