Missing Westchester Woman Returns Home, Safe

The Missing Adult Alert activated earlier Sunday evening for a 69-year-old Westchester woman has been canceled, the New York State Public Safety Department said. 

Helen Boylan, 69, is safe after returning to her home in Yonkers on her own, authorities said.

The New York State Public Safety Department is asking the public's help in the search for a Westchester woman who has gone missing.

A Missing Person Alert has been issued related to the disappearance of 69-year-old Helen Boylan at the request of the Yonkers City Police Department Communications Division. Authorities say she may attempt to travel to Dutchess County.

The alert includes Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange, Columbia, Greene, Sullivan, Ulster and Nassau counties as well as all of New York City.

Boylan was last seen at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15 at her residence on Cornell Avenue in the city of Yonkers.

She is described as being 5-foot-4, 150 pounds with sandy hair and blue eyes. She is classified as a vulnerable adult with a traumatic brain injury and may be confused or disorientated, authorities said.
