On Tuesday night, a resident of Lake Street off of Bloomer Road, sighted a small hopping kangaroo in her yard, according to Susan Saks.
Indy, who was 6 when he went missing, was previously spotted in Cortlandt Manor by a New York City police detective on his way home.
"We have never given up hope that somehow he survived two winters and the 20 degree temperatures when he was first lost over 2 years ago," said Saks, who has lived in North Salem since 1987.
The Sakses said they tried to donate Indy to a zoo but were rebuffed since the zoos already had wallabies and Indy is neutered.
"If we were to get him back, we would still try and place him in a setting where he could be free," Saks said. "We want him to be outside with other wallabys."
Indy had been a member of the Saks family for five years after their son rescued him from someone in upstate New York who took Indy to schools and kept him in a playpen.
Saks said Indy likes to eat roses and loves the outdoors. He also feeds on wheat thins, triskets, rice cakes and sweet potatoes.
