William Rockefeller, 48, will get regular payments through the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board due to an unspecified disability that has made it impossible for him to return to work, the Journal News reported.
Rockefeller was behind the wheel of a commuter train that derailed in the Bronx, killing four and injuring 60.
He was cleared of any criminal charges, and it was determined by federal authorities that an undiagnosed case of sleep apnea caused him to nod off while behind the wheel.
