Metro-North Adds Trains For St. Patrick's Day Parade

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Metro-North riders from Westchester County who are heading to New York City for the St. Patrick's Day parade Saturday should be able to find seats.

Metro-North will operate extra trains in addition to the regular Saturday schedule to and from the parade on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines. In addition, trains will have extra cars.

Alcohol will not be allowed on trains, platforms and at stations Saturday. MTA Police will enforce this ban, Metro-North said.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at 44th Street, just two blocks from Grand Central.

On the Hudson Line, these are some of the inbound service changes that will be in effect:

  • The 7:40 a.m. from Poughkeepsie will run express after Croton-Harmon and arrive at Grand Central at 9:21 a.m.
  • An extra express train will depart Croton-Harmon at 8:39 a.m., making stops at Ossining, Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Yonkers and Marble Hill and arrive at Grand Central at 9:34 a.m.
  • The 8:54 a.m. from Croton-Harmon will stop at Ossining, Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Yonkers and Marble Hill and arrive at Grand Central at 9:49 a.m.
  • The 9:28 a.m. from Croton-Harmon will stop at Tarrytown and arrive at Grand Central at 10:15 a.m.

On the Harlem Line, these are some of the inbound service changes that will be in effect:

  • The 8:06 a.m. from Southeast will stop at Brewster, Goldens Bridge, Katonah, Mount Kisco, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, North White Plains and White Plains and arrive at Grand Central at 9:28 a.m.
  • The 8:35 a.m. from Southeast will make the same stops (except Pleasantville) and arrive at Grand Central at 9:54 a.m.
  • The 9:06 a.m. from Southeast will make the same stops and arrive at Grand Central at 10:28 a.m.
  • The 9:30 a.m. from Southeast will make the same stops and arrive at Grand Central at 10:54 a.m.
  • The 10:06 a.m. from Southeast will make the same stops and arrive at Grand Central at 11:28 a.m.

The following outbound extra trains will operate on the Hudson Line:

  • The 4:16 p.m. from Grand Central will stop at Harlem-125th Street, Croton-Harmon, Cortlandt, Peekskill, Garrison, Cold Spring, Beacon and New Hamburg and arrive in Poughkeepsie at 5:59 p.m.
  • The 5:16 p.m. from Grand Central will stop at Harlem-125th Street, Croton-Harmon, Cortlandt, Peekskill, Garrison, Cold Spring, Beacon and New Hamburg and arrive in Poughkeepsie at 6:59 p.m.

The following outbound extra trains will operate on the Harlem Line:

  • The 3:23 p.m. from Grand Central will stop at Harlem-125th Street, White Plains, North White Plains, Valhalla, Hawthorne, Pleasantville, Chappaqua, Mt. Kisco, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Goldens Bridge, Purdy's, Croton Falls and Brewster and arrive in Southeast at 4:53 p.m.
  • The 5:37 p.m. from Grand Central will stop at Harlem-125th Street, Chappaqua, Mt. Kisco, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Goldens Bridge, Purdy's, Croton Falls and Brewster and arrive in Southeast at 7:03 p.m.
