Bronx resident Jorge Moran-Gaspar has been sentenced to four years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to third-degree rape in a case involving a young girl. Upon the completion of his sentence, Moran-Gaspar will also be required to register as a sex offender.
Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., said that in May last year, Moran-Gaspar’s victim reported that she had been involved in an inappropriate sexual relationship with him that began when she was 14 years old.
Moran-Gaspar had also been physically abusive toward his victim, which prompted her to seek police intervention.
The investigation into their relationship was commenced, during which, Moran-Gaspar admitted to Mount Vernon Police investigators that he had sex with his victim when she was 14 years old. Moran-Gaspar was arrested by police in Mount Vernon on June 2 last year.
