Lasers Pointed At Planes Flying Into NY, Near-Miss With Drone Reported

A passenger jet heading to LaGuardia Airport had a close call Friday morning with a drone near Prospect Park in Brooklyn shortly after five pilots reported someone had pointed green lasers at their planes, reported nbcnewyork.com.

A flight from Washington, D.C., said it encountered an unmanned aircraft in its flight path, and the pilot had to pull up about 200 feet to avoid the drone but the plane landed safely, reported nbcnewyork.com.

The near-miss came after the FAA said pilots flying passenger jets reported being targeted by a green laser while flying Thursday night, reported nbcnewyork.com.
