It's Showtime For Planet Pluto As NASA Spacecraft Flies By

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft will fly closely by Pluto and Pluto’s moons on Tuesday, nine years after its launch, according to NASA.

Since launching on Jan. 19, 2006, New Horizons’ telescopic Long-Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) has taken hundreds of images of Pluto as it approaches the planet, said NASA in a February 2015 update. 

The flyby is expected to occur around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday morning.
