Customers travelling between Yonkers and Grand Central this weekend were strongly encouraged to use the Harlem Line as they should anticipate 45 to 60 minutes of additional travel time, the MTA said. Hudson Line tickets will be honored on the Harlem Line.

Regular service was scheduled on Saturday and Sunday between Poughkeepsie and Yonkers, but a substitute train, bus and subway schedule will be in effect between Yonkers and Grand Central, the MTA announced. Free subway and bus transfers will be provided.

Hudson Line train service is expected to resume on a normal schedule by the first morning peak train on Monday, July 29.

Details for the weekend's train/bus schedule are as follows:

  • Hourly Hudson Line train service will operate between Poughkeepsie and Yonkers stations.
  • For southbound Hudson Line service: Trains will serve all stations between Poughkeepsie and Yonkers stations and connect with direct shuttle bus service to the Woodlawn Subway Station for the No. 4 Subway service to 161st-Yankee Stadium and Manhattan.
  • For northbound Hudson Line service: Commuters should take the No. 4 subway service uptown from Manhattan/161st-Yankee Stadium to the Woodlawn subway station. Shuttle bus service will operate directly to the Yonkers Metro-North station and connect with train service to Poughkeepsie.
  • There will be no Hudson Line Yankees game-day service. Direct Yankees game-day service will operate on the Harlem Line this weekend, including an extra Harlem Line train.
  • Ludlow customers should use Yonkers Station.
  • Customers between Riverdale and Morris Heights stations should use NYCT subway and/or local bus service. No shuttle bus service will be available.

Following the derailment of a freight train that was transporting materials and municipal garbage on July 18, bus service replaced trains after 10 p.m. on weekdays and customers were warned to expect delays of up to 45 minutes in additional travel time.
