High Temps Predicted for Westchester County

NEW YORK -- The National Weather Service is predicting high temperatures nearing 90 degrees for Westchester County from today until Thursday evening.

Temperatures are expected to reach 90 degrees in lower Westchester municipalities, such as Pelham today, with northern municipalities, such as North Salem, getting up to 86 degrees.

On Wednesday, temperatures will peak at around 90 degrees again throughout the county, with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Winds are expected to stay calm throughout the day and evening hours. In the evening there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a low in the mid 60s.

On Thursday, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees in southern Westchester and around 85 degrees in Northern Westchester, with winds between three and seven miles per hour around the county. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. In the evening, skies will remain mostly cloudy with a low temperature of around 68 degrees for the northern areas and around 62 degrees in the southern areas. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the county.

Temperatures are expected to return to the low-to-mid 80s for Friday.
