A 47-year-old Westchester native is being hailed as a hero for tackling the driver who mowed down nearly two dozen pedestrians in Times Square on Thursday, killing an 18-year-old female tourist from Michigan.

Ken Bradix, who grew up in Mount Vernon, used his skills as a security guard at Planet Hollywood in Times Square to grab 26-year-old Richard Rojas after Rojas exited his Honda Accord and started running in a rage.

Bradix, a longtime bouncer, was standing outside Planet Hollywood when the horrifying incident occurred and at the moment Rojas crashed the Honda into a pole near 45th Street.

Rojas struggled to escape Bradix's grasp after Bradix initially grabbed Rojas by the shirt. Bradix, who now lives in Brooklyn, was then able to tackle Rojas to the ground just as police officers arrived.

Twenty-two people were injured in the incident.
