McMahon, a minority owner of the WWE, and the pilot on board the small Robinson R44 helicopter are both safe after being ferried to shore, the FAA said. Both were wearing their life jackets and vests.
The helicopter, registered to the Awesome Flight company out of White Plains, departed from Westchester County Airport late in the morning.
NYPD and emergency responders from both Nassau and Suffolk counties rushed to the scene.
McMahon is the son of professional wrestling promoter and WWE CEO Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon, the administrator of the Small Business Administration under the Trump Administration, who live in Greenwich, Conn.
