The snow showers were light and fleeting but served as a bitter reminder that fall is settling in across the Hudson Valley and winter is on its way.
The freezing temperatures were settling in Sunday evening and were expected to last into Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
A freeze warning remained in effect from 2 to 10 a.m. Monday across Westchester County and as well as the rest of Hudson Valley.
Temperates are expected to sink below freezing for the second night in a row, the weather service said.
Sensitive vegetation and outdoor plants could be damaged or killed due to the low temperatures, the weather service said.
Monday should be sunny, with high temperatures reaching the mid-60s. Overnight lows in the 40s and daytime highs in the 60s under partly sunny skies are in forecast for the rest of the week as well.
