Former Employees File Suit Against TransCare Over Westchester Service Cuts

Former employees of TransCare, a regional ambulance service that abruptly ended Westchester services last week, filed class action lawsuits against Patriach Partners, a company they believe has ownership of TransCare, according to lohud.com.

But officials for Patriach Partners say they were not the employers who should have been notifying the employees of the company's reorganization, lohud.com reports.

When TransCare ended its Westchester services shortly after filing bankruptcy, it sent many towns scrambling for services.

The lawsuits, filed in federal court by two former employees in federal court, seek wages and benefits for the 1,200 employees who lost their jobs. The company is keeping some of its operations, including some ambulance services in Dutchess County, lohud.com says.
