Students and staff at Fordham Prep, the all-boys Jesuit high school in the Bronx, arereeling from news that a second student was struck Monday by a northbound Metro-North train near the school in the span of just more than two weeks.
It follows the Jan. 18 death of a 16-year-old Sleepy Hollow student, who was hit by a train at the Philipse Manor railroad station in Westchester County.
In addition to providing students with counseling, as previously reported by Daily Voice, Fordham Prep officials have hired a 1981 graduate who now heads the Psychological Services Institute at Fordham University to meet with students and parents. Meanwhile, officials with Metro-North said they are assigning additional officers at the station platforms that serve the school, the New York Times says.
