The lawsuit, filed by a group of doctors and terminally ill patients, says that the ban doctor-assisted suicide violates the equal protection clause of the State Constitution because it prohibits assisting with suicide for terminally ill patients, but allows doctors to help other terminally ill patients die, citing removing them from life support as an example according to the report.
