Nearly a week after Edgemont resident Lauren Spierer went missing in Bloomington, Indiana, the Edgemont School District continues to provide as much outreach as they can.
Spierer still has many friends at Edgemont High School, which she graduated from in 2009, and the district is offering counseling services to adults and children who are having a difficult time dealing with Spierer's disappearance.
"All of us would like to do more to extend out love and support to Lauren's family," said Nancy Taddiken, superintendent of the Edgemont School District.
Taddiken reached out with thoughts of encouragement and strength to Spierer's parents, Rob and Charlene, as the search for their daughter continues into its seventh day.
"We are with them and we want them to know we will do everything we can," she said.
On Thursday, the Edgemont School District will hold a meeting to discuss what else can be done to support the grieving community.
"I get more and more worried the longer time goes since the last time Lauren was seen," Taddiken said. "But I'm trying to stay optimistic."
