WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Federal investigators tasked with piecing together events surrounding the Feb. 3 Metro-North Railroad crash in Valhalla that killed six people have spent much of their time focusing on Ellen Brody of Edgemont, the driver whose sport utility vehicle was struck by the train, according to The New York Times.

According to the report, investigators have examined, among other things, the design of the railroad crossing and the functionality of the train equipment. A focus on the driver, Ellen Brody, however, has led authorities to seek a greater understanding of her background.

Brody tested negative for drugs or alcohol.
