With an estimated 800,000 witnesses in attendance, Trump gave his first address as President of the United States just after noon. He began by thanking the Obama family and administration but quickly turned his sights on speaking out against the current political establishment.
Trump said his inauguration marked not only the transfer of power from one president to the next, but the transfer of power from the Washinton D.C. establishment back to the people.
Trump went on to discuss how policies would be made with an "America first" mentality. He also addressed his plans to sure up the country's borders, and bring back jobs and industry, two of the hallmarks of his campaign.
The new president also touched on crime, gangs and drugs, calling them "American Carnage."
Trump closed his speech with his trademark, "Make America Great Again."
