ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- The Food Bank for Westchester is seeking help selecting individuals, groups and programs to honor that have made exceptional strides against hunger in 2012.
The Food Bank will review nominations for the 2012 Hunger Heroes that fall in three categories. The volunteer award will recognize a person or group of people who have used their time to alleviate hunger in the community. The service provider award will honor an agency or program that helps eradicate hunger in Westchester. The donor award will salute an individual or corporation who has generously backed the fight against hunger.
Hunger Hero nominee and stories can be submitted for consideration on the Food Bank for Westchester's website. Nomination forms are also available by calling (914) 923-1100 or emailing patricia.reino@foodbankforwestchester.org. The deadline is April 3.
After selection, the Food Bank will pay tribute to the Hunger Heroes at a June 5 awards breakfast in Tarrytown.
