Computers disks and hard drives were seized by the Bloomington Police Department Tuesday night from Smallwood Apartments in Indiana, when Edgemont resident Lauren Spierer lived while attending Indiana University.
Spierer, 20, went missing early Friday morning. As the search enters its sixth day, her family and friends are imploring the communities, both in Edgemont and Bloomington, to spread the word and share any new information or leads about her disappearance.
Spierer's parents, Rob and Charlene, spoke at a Wednesday morning press conference in Indiana, thanking the police departments and volunteers for assisting in the search for their daughter. They said it is critical that she is located and that their focus remains concentrated on her until she is found.
Bloomington police officers used a battering ram to enter the Smallwood Apartments' mail and security rooms Tuesday night, said Indiana's WTHR TV. The staff member with those keys could not be located at the time, and police required the material immediately. Search warrants were issued to seize five computer hard drives and disks that the police are now reviewing.
In addition, it was revealed that the purse obtained during the hunt did not belong to Spierer. Searches are being held thrice daily, at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., led by Spierer's parents. Volunteers from across the nation have traveled to Bloomington to help find Spierer.

Another press conference will take place on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Indiana where Spierer's parents are expected to make a more detailed statement.
