ARMONK, N.Y. - Legendary jazz performer Charlie Lagond performed to a full crowd Saturday at Whippoorwill Hall inside the North Castle Public Library.
The musical performance included contemporary interpretations of "timeless standards and original compositions of jazz, Latin, and beyond," according to a promotional release.
The event was standing room only at the fifth annual Lagond & Friends performance. The group received a standing ovation after "an incredible set of jazz and contemporary classics performed with the distinctive Lagond flair," Program Director Fran Davies said.
The performance was presented by North Castle Public Library and underwritten by the Friends of North Castle Public Library, Inc.
Charlie Lagond has performed on Broadway, at inaugural balls and in Europe with The Brecker Brothers, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, Bernard Purdie, Chuck Mangione, The Jackson Five and Natalie Cole, according to the release.
The concert was free for all residents to attend.
