ARMONK, N.Y. -- Michael Levy, owner of Grand Lux Realty on Main Street in Armonk made his second appearance at North Castle Justice Court on Tuesday and charges against him were dropped.
Thomas Baroni, the North Castle Code Enforcement Officer, sited him for a sign violation in October, when Levy posted a bright yellow sign atop his building that led to complaints.
Levy said he took the signs down and was in the midst of applying for Architectural Review Board approval when Baroni returned and issued another citation, which led to his first appearance in court on Dec. 10.
Judge Robert McGoey asked him to plead guilty and to pay a $75 fine but Levy refused, which led to a second court appearance Tuesday.
Levy appeared before the Architectural Review Board on Dec. 11 and agreed to post black and white signs. He also paid a sign permit fee.
His actions motivated Judge McGoey and North Castle Town Prosecutor Patrick Bliss to drop the charges.
Levy has ordered new black and white signs, which he said will be put up next week.
Levy was initially distressed by the town's actions but was ultimately satisfied. "It was totally resolved in a nice way," he said.
