Castelli Passes Sportsmen's Legislation

Assemblyman Robert Castelli, of New York State's 89th District, announced that the Assembly passed a bill that will allow for the transfer of lifetime hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses of members of the military who died in combat or were deployed in combat since September 11, 2001 to a family member.

“When our fallen heroes return to us, whatever can be done to provide aide and comfort to gold star families, must be done,” Castelli said. “Surviving family members of our service members who were killed in the line of duty find that their lives are traumatically altered by their loss."

These families will not be required to pay a fee for the transfer of fishing, hunting and trapping licenses to a direct relation.

The 89th District of the New York State Assembly that Castelli represents consists of New Castle, Bedford, Mt. Kisco, North Castle, Harrison, Pound Ridge, Lewisboro, and a large portion of White Plains.
