WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. The Transit Workers Union and Liberty Lines Transit, Inc. are currently in negotiations over a new contract because their current one expires at midnight. In the case of a strike, the county will have several temporary carpool staging areas set up and they also recommend signing up for NuRide and Rideshare in order to look for people to carpool with.
Deputy Communications Director of Westchester County, Donna Greene also urged residents to sign up for bus rider alerts on the countys website.
We have a riders alert page, which has all the information about which bus routes are affected, which is everything except three routes, where park and rides would be set up, and how to get carpooling, Greene said.

Greene is hoping that the two sides can come to an agreement and that the county will not have to worry about the issues of a strike.
Hopefully, we wake up tomorrow, and our good efforts were just an exercise of practice, Greene said.
However, if there is a strike, there will be seven carpool staging areas spread out across the south, central, and north regions of Westchester.
