Byram Hills School District Turns 50

The Byram Hills School District celebrated its 50th birthday Friday with ceremonies and celebrations in each of its schools.

As a gesture mimicking Coman Hill School Principal Carol Fisher's tradition of giving pencils to students on their birthdays, District Superintendent Dr. Jackie Taylor was presented with a large pencil to mark the district's birthday.

"The children were all delighted with Dr. Taylor's reaction to the gift," School Communications Specialist Fiona Mitchell said.

Students at Byram Hills High School also celebrated with a special birthday cake.

The Byram Hills School District is based in Armonk and serves Kindergarten through grade 12.
