But as the day turns to night, residents are encouraged to stay home, as the worst of the storm is still ahead.
Snow and freezing rain are in the forecast for Saturday evening. Snowfall may be heavy at times, according to the National Weather Service. Residents can expect temperatures to be in the mid-20s, and wind gusts up to 35 mph are possible.
Snow is expected to turn to rain and freezing rain after midnight with icy conditions possible.
Total snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches is predicted across the county. The entire county remains under a winter storm warning until 6 a.m. Sunday.
The storm will move out Sunday morning and give way to partly sunny skies with temperatures in the low 40s.
