The Albany County Health Department said Friday the bobcat had rabies.
The couple went to a neighboring residence to borrow furniture for a garage sale when they were attacked by the bobcat, police said.The owner of the home was then able to pin the bobcat down with a chair before shooting and killing it.
The most recent bobcat sighting in the Hudson Valley occurred last week when Yorktown Police warned residents to stay alert after receiving a video of what appears to be large, dark colored bobcat in the vicinity of Baldwin Road. For more on that click here.
