The company announced the recall because of the possibility of exposure to undeclared pistachios, and those who have severe sensitivity to pistachios could have serious allergic reactions.
No illnesses have been reported so far.
The company typically sells Mortadella without pistachios, and received a bulk shipment of the meat with pistachios, cutting them on the same slicers used for the regular deli meats.
Customers are advised to throw away the meats if they have an allergy and bring in their receipt for a refund.
The list of meats that have come in contact with the Mortadella is available at this FDA.gov link.Click here to follow Daily Voice Armonk and receive free news updates.
